My son’s most favorite commercial nowadays (replacing Jang Dong Gun’s) is the Sho-Al game featuring the cutie Kim Beom (in his pink shirt). He just couldn’t get enough of that CF that we had to watch it over and over for almost an hour last night. He kept on laughing at the scene where Kim Beom sorta made a mistake.

Kim Beom debuted in 2006. He was in the MBC produced High Kick and Rude Woman. He was also introduced in the movie Hellcats early this year. Later, we’ll see him in the upcoming Song Seung Hun comeback drama East of Eden.

Choi Min Soo used to be in the list of my favorite Korean actors. I loved him in the hit Korean drama Sandglass together with Park Sang Won (Jang Dong Gun’s co-endorser for Parkland), Go Hyun Jung (HIT) and Lee Jung Jae (Air City). However, I was quite disappointed to see him in The Legend or Tae Wang Sa Shin Gi, the drama topbilled by Bae Yong Jun. He looked a bit older than I thought, yet he’s only 47.

Choi Min Soo is in the news for punching an old man. He had a press conference today and asked for an apology. News reports said that his victim is hospitalized but not serious. Mr. Choi acted like he was in the Sandglass.

I’m so glad to read that Lee Byung Hun will be back on the boob tube via the drama IRIS. This is his first after the highly successful “All In”, where he met and fell in love with Song Hye Gyo, about five years ago. He was in the Philippines last year with Josh Hartnett and Takuya Kimura filming his Hollywood debut “I Come With the Rain.”

Lee Byung Hun is one of my favorite actors. Though not as good-looking (subjective) as Jang Dong Gun, he’s definitely not lacking in the acting department. IMO, he’s one of Korea’s really good actors (even better than my favorite — again, subjective). I am surely going to wait for this drama.

Lee Dong Gun returns to Korea. He flew from Sydney and arrived at 6PM. He was carrying his brother’s ashes in an urn wrapped in white silk. Witnesses have noted the tears in his eyes. They will bring the ashes directly to Samsung Seoul Hospital Mortuary in Gangnam-gu. The funeral will be held on Monday, the 31st.

March 29, 12:37 AM UPDATE: After the taping of Han Ji Hye’s KBS drama, she went to the funeral at 11:30 PM. She wore a black sweater and used the back door, evading the media. She met and condoled Lee Dong Gun.

Lee Dong Gun’s family held the funeral for his brother, Lee Jun Yeob. The funeral was held on March 26th at 10:15 AM, Australian time.

Lee Joon-yub, 19, collapsed and died on the footpath outside World Square after he and a friend became embroiled in a brawl with two teenagers at Hungry Jacks….

Following the service yesterday morning, Lee Dong-gun - a heart-throb to millions of adolescent Korean girls - emerged choking back tears and clutching a photograph of his brother, while his father wailed in grief.

Here’s a story from the Sydney Morning Herald. The two men charged are 18-year olds Michael Lee and Ivan Wong. Another senseless death. I feel sorry for Lee Dong Gun and his family. I also feel sorry for the parents of the two men.

Murdered man was actor’s brother

“He loved his brother so much. He was very proud of him. Whenever the brother returned home for vacations, he spent most of his time with the brother,” an unidentified friend of Lee’s was quoted as saying by Go News, an internet news provider.

I read about the story of two Korean students stabbed in Sydney. Tonight, I’ve been reading that one of the victims is Lee Dong Gun’s younger brother. Lee Dong Gun gained popularity in the Philippines through the Korean drama “Lovers in Paris”. He recently broke up with long-time girlfriend Han Ji Hye. Here’s the news report from Sydney:
