As Simon had predicted, the song is now a hit… at least in Youtube. So many different versions, even Alina made an R&B version. There’s even a punk version of the song. Of course, nothing beats the original. I have been singing the song myself. It’s just so addictive! It’s soooo like April Boy Regino’s songs… the more you try to get it off your head, the more you remember it… last song syndrome.

Have you ever seen the movie “Sigaw”? Unless you’ve been living in the jungle, you’ve probably heard that Hollywood is remaking the movie. I have a DVD of the film but I haven’t seen it. I heard it’s really crazy and I haven’t had the time to watch it. It would be better to watch it with my husband or a friend One of my favorite horror movies is the Thai film “The Eye”. My husband like it too, so I hope he’ll enjoy “Sigaw” as well if and when we finally watch the DVD.

Anyway, I surely am excited for Iza Calzado. I just read the news that she will reprise her role in the Hollywood remake. Iza is not only beautiful but talented as well. Someone we can truly be proud of (kapuso ka man o kapamilya). How I wish the movie will do well, like the other Asian horror films remade in Hollywood like “The Ring” and “The Grudge” which were made by the same company that will produce “The Echo”.

I’ve been very busy for the past few weeks, specially during the first week of October since it was the Chuseok (korean thanksgiving) holiday. Anyway, I’d like to inform you guys about an upcoming concert here in Korea. The following info is from one of the concert promoters…

The concert title is RIVERMAYA ROCKS KOREA!

It will be held on December 17, 6 -8 pm at the Jongha Gymnasium, Ulsan City.

Tickets are at 25,000 KRW first come, first serve. For ticket inquiries and reservations, you may call Hermie Albao of the Ulsan Association of Filipinos and beneficiary of the concert at 019-540-2474.

This is the first time that Rivermaya will be performing in Korea and this promises to be a great event since they just won a triple peat at the MTV Awards, MYX Awards and Awit Awards.

There’ll be picture taking and autograph signing after the concert and their CDs and memorabilia shirts will also be up for sale.

Gates open at 4 pm.

I live in Seoul, which is like a 5-hour bus ride to Ulsan but I’ll try to go to the concert. Rivermaya is one of my favorite Pinoy bands eversince I first heard 214 and I definitely adore Rico Blanco, who’s really the heart and soul of Rivermaya (hehe!).

and i thought she doesn’t really exist

one of my favorite filipino actors is sharon cuneta… and i grew up watching her movies and television shows… and of course, following her life… i was happy when she and the dashing gabby concepcion married and sympathized with her when they separated… and when her daughter KC Concepcion grew up to be a beautiful young lady and out in the public, i couldn’t resist to follow her career as well… she went to study in France a couple of years ago and recently decided to meet her father, whom she hadn’t met for so many years…

last august, she finally had a reunion with her still super handsome dad, gabby concepcion… and she shares with her fans and readers that beautiful event on her blog… it’s amazing how she grew up with no resentment towards her biological father… like she had said in one of her entries, it must be the way her mother brought her up… seeing their pictures together, one can’t help but be amaze at how beautiful they are… (hmm! ang guwapo talaga ni gabby!)

as i was answering one of the emails i’ve received from a reader (kinda late though since i’ve been busy) who’s a fan of korean dramas, i remember that the first korean drama i saw featured charlene gonzales in the cast… yes! you’ve read it correctly… the charlene gonzales who was miss philippines 1994 and married to forever bagets aga muhlach…

i’m not sure when it was shown but i think it was somewhere between 1997 and 1999… i accidentally tuned in to arirang TV at around 10 in the evening and saw a familiar face in what was supposed to be a foreign drama… i thought the lady looked a lot like charlene gonzales… so i asked my sister and she said it was indeed charlene gonzales… not only that, bernard bonnin (charlene’s younger brother) was also in the drama…

the thing is i didn’t follow that drama and i never knew it’s title… i was just proud and shocked to see somebody familiar in a foreign television channel… with so many korean dramas shown on philippine tv, it would be nice to see a filipino drama someday on korean tv… just like the japanese doramas i see on MBC Movies channel 30 (right now, they’re showing one of Matsumoto Jun’s dorama)… how about “kay tagal kang hinintay”… ?
