The only thing I like about winter is that spring comes after it. When the double digit temperature starts, we wait eagerly for the flowers to bloom. And we do that EVERY year ~ especially with the cherry blossoms. The KMA announced yesterday that cherry blossoms will bloom 5 days earlier than last year. Of course, it’s just a prediction ~ putting in mind what happened in 2014 when they were in full bloom before April, which was a first in Seoul.
Here are the three most awaited spring flowers for 2016.
You know it’s really spring in Korea when forsythia are in bloom. These golden yellow blossoms are so beautiful to look at. This year it will be in the middle of March in Jeju-do and the last week of the month in Seoul.
Likewise, jindale or azalea are expected to bloom around the middle of March in Jeju-do and on the last week of March in Seoul.
Cherry blossoms is the most awaited spring flower in Korea. Waiting for them is like a ritual – you do it every year! They usually bloom during the first week of April and peak by the middle of the month.
