I posted about this a few years ago. I saw Charlene Gonzales sometime in 1999 on a Korean drama shown on Arirang TV. I didn’t follow the series, but my sister just told me about it. I wasn’t interested in Korean dramas that time. It wasn’t until late 1999 that I became interested in anything Korean when I saw Jang Dong Gun and Kim Hee Sun’s movie shown on the same channel. The movie was “Repechage” and it was similar to Matthew Broderick and Meg Ryan’s “Addicted to Love”.
Anyway, I accidentally found the title of the drama that Charlene Gonzales was a part of. It’s called “ì „ìŸê³¼ì‚¬ëž‘” or “War and Love”. It was shown in 1995 as a special drama produced by MBC for the 50th anniversary of Korea’s independence.
The cast of this drama consisted of a few A-listers with Lee Chang Hoon and Oh Yeon Soo in the lead. Hallyu stars Ahn Jae Wook and Choi Ji Woo were also in this drama. Here’s the casting, according to Daum.
I hope I can still find a copy of this drama online. In the meantime, here’s a gist of the drama “War and Love” as shown on MBC’s Happy Time, Masterpiece Theater.
