Wandeugi, starring Yoo Ah In of Sungkyunkwan Scandal, had its VIP premiere tonight. The event was held at CGV in Wangshimni Stn, two subway stops from where I live. Too bad I couldn’t go there, since my husband is in Moscow and I don’t want my son to spend more time at his day care.
The stars of the movie came and so did other celebrities:
The ViP premiere night started at 8 o’clock. The actresses who attended were given bouquets, and some of the celebrities also gave their well wishes for the movie.
The movie will open on the 20th. So watch out for it if you’re in Korea. Jasmine Lee, who happens to share the same birthday as the Megastar Sharon Cuneta, plays the role of Wandeuk’s mom. She is a Filipina in the movie who married a disabled Korean man. So, Yoo Ah In’s character in the movie is actually half-Korean and half-Filipino, although in the book the mom was Vietnamese. It reminded me somehow of Jun Matsumoto’s role in the drama “Smile”, shown in 2009, wherein he played the role of a half-Japanese half-Filipino.
Don’t forget to take one of the free movie brochures, you can find at the multiplexes here. They’re nice souvenirs.
Fellow “pinay sa Korea” blogger Wendy wrote about her experience at the premiere night.
