Saving Money for the Holidays

by Betchay on October 22, 2009

My son loves Caillou and one of his favorite movies is “Caillou’s Holiday Movie”. Since he really enjoyed singing the song “Oh Christmas Tree”, I thought he’d be surprised if I’d bring out the Christmas tree for him to decorate. That’s what I did last Sunday night and then I was reminded of how my favorite holiday is just around the corner. In fact, the weather in this part of the world is so cool that I couldn’t get out of the house anymore without wearing two or three layers of clothing.

It’s imperative that we save money during the holidays. For one, during this season the weather is so cold that we have to turn on heating almost 24 hours a day. Last winter, we spent about $100 on heating costs per month. I’d have to adjust our budget just for the that alone during winter.

I’m also saving up for the holidays to buy presents for my nieces and nephews and of course, my husband and son. My husband got me a pearl necklace last Christmas while I bought him a DMB player, which I’m now using on my long trip to work. For my son, I bought him a Thomas train set at 50% off courtesy of our credit card.

Just in case it’s really impossible to save money for the holidays, we’re lucky that we could take advantage of payday loan. Borrowing money is something I wouldn’t want to do but there are times when that’s the only we could do to get through the expensive winter season, right?

the part that i hate the most when winter winter comes is the super inflated bill because of the heater. It eats up the money that we can spend for ourselves. that means no shopping for me… sniff

it’s that time of the year again. for me, whenever there’s a sale, and this is anytime of the year, i just buy stuff and keep them. in that case, i avoid dealing with the christmas rush. yes, my heating bill could go up this year. it’s not yet winter but i had to turn it on.

Hello~
I’m Cerylhen, a 100 % filipina that looks like a korean….

By the way, I want to confide and ask you about something. My boyfriend is Korean. Our relationship is almost 6 months old now (November).. hmmmm… I haven’t met him yet. He was supposed to visit me here in Philippines last Oct. 15 but my mom had a mild stroke, consequently, I rescheduled his visit to be in December.—

We really like each other and I feel that he is really a good person like what my mother feels towards him and his family. We chat on MSN regularly since May 2009-September 2009 (not until October-present because he’s very busy now with work). I can chat also with his mom and always see his brother on cam… My mom and I really feel that they are good people by how they communicate to us. They are Protestant Christians.

I’m confident about our relationship is going well but there’s one thing that I am afraid of and it’s about Korean men being STINGY.

Can you please site some ways on how to SILENTLY DETECT a STINGY KOREAN?

Everyone’s answer will be greatly appreciated.

Oh wouldn’t it be nice to marry someone who would not waste money on drinking sprees? My FIL is so stingy he wouldn’t turn their heater on during winter, but last summer he surprised everyone by donating a huge sum (equivalent to 7-figure in USD) to a university.
