I am Korean. So is Lee Hyori. I’m also pretty tanned, because I don’t live in Korea, but in Scandinavia, where tanned skin is considered beautiful. I don’t see why you think Lee Hyori looks Filipino. Not even without the tan. Her face features says clearly that she is Korean. For example, she has a “small” nose, and her eyes aren’t set that deep as on many Filipinos.
I must say that I do think of Filipinos as more tanned, but that doesn’t make them bad-looking or anything? And I hate that you have to defend yourself in that way you say that Koreans are ugly. That’s just mean, and very untrue.

I don’t mean to be rude to my fellow Filipinos… but don’t say that “WE” or a particular race does not need plastic surgery because we/they have natural beauty. That’s ridiculous! I know that we are proud of who we are but let’s be realistic. People have this surgeries because they want to feel better for not everyone was born perfect. I haven’t had surgeries but I have looked after/ interviewed for my thesis these people. So I sort of know what they are going through.

OK back to the topic… I am outraged on how these people degrade Filipinos. As if being a Filipino is something to be ashamed of. I am happy and proud to be a Filipino, hard working and enduring. I would prefer to be called a Filipino illegal immigrant than to be grouped together with bigots. Such disgrace.

Yes..Lee Hyo Ri looks fantastic..and she really looks like a Filipina..not because she is dark-skinned but because she’s talented and very beautiful. I like her so much!

Not all Filipinos are dark-skinned. I am a Filipina but I have a whiter skin…compared to some Korean actresses. The truth is I never met a beautiful Korean among my students…

Hi I am a Filipina but I am not tan, I am whiter than lee hyori and For your information not all Filipino has a darker skin, because Filipina (pertaining to Filipino women) Is one of the beautiful faces in the world, the people in actress and actors in the country like korea, japan, and china is look like a natural person here and The actor and actresses here don’t spent their money to plastic surgery because we Filipino are natural beauty, If Lee hyori is a filipino I am glad because she is pretty.If I am in that country I could be an actress there. (sorry for saying this word but I did not say that koreans are ugly but they go to plastic surgery to become beautiful, Philippines is not a rich country but all people their don’t spend their money going to a cosmetic surgery we spend for what we want to have like laptops, cars and others)

How the heck does Hyori look like a illegal Filipino immigrant because her skin’s darker? That’s ridiculous. There are pictures of her when she was a child, and clearly she doesn’t have a typical Filipino look or coloring. Ahem, let’s not forget plastic surgery and tanning. And, honestly, it almost seems like Filipino bashing. What image comes to mind when you think illegal Filipino immigrant? Dark and foreign. Grr. Sorry I’m venting, but this is so annoying how we as Filipinos are regarded by others.
