The “Facebook” of Travelers

by Betchay on February 8, 2009

I had just become a member of GeckoGo Travel. If you’ve never heard of it before, it’s THE website for those who love to travel.

I landed on GeckoGo through a recommendation from a friend. I spent a few minutes browsing the site and then I decided to sign up. I don’t usually like having to sign-up but I like this site. First, I like that there are almost no ads and annoying pop-ups. Second, the site is easy on the eyes with only three dominating colors: green and orange on white background. Third, the site is really fast on my Opera browser. I haven’t tried it on Internet Explorer nor on Firefox but if it looks goods on Opera, I’m sure it will show nicely on other browsers.

The first thing I did upon activation is to add some of the cities in the world I’ve been to. I’m going to update my bio and other information later. I have also posted my photo and become “friends” with a fellow traveler.

Some of the things that you (or I) could do on the site is to check when is the best time and place in the world to do your favorite things (like . You could also read travel tips from other travelers. I really like this feature since I’d rather read from others’ experiences than read a nicely written ad. You could also share your own travel tips for others to read. I’m planning to post more photos later and share my own tips.

GeckoGo also offers a service to help you search for flights, book hotels and purchase travel insurance (a must for travelers). And if you have any questions about traveling to any part of the world, you’re free to post it and wait for people to contribute and answer. The site makes planning your next travel pretty easy.

Thanks for recommending GeckoGo. Like you, I also like to travel and I am always looking for great deals and tips especially on countries that I am planning to visit. It helps me enjoy the country more when I know what to expect.

Thanks for the site recommendation. It looks pretty cool and there seems to be a lot of activity on it. I like traveling a lot myself.
