Employment Opportunity for Pinoys in Korea

by Betchay on October 30, 2008

Wendy posted a job ad on her site for FILIPINOS CURRENTLY LIVING IN KOREA. The job vacancy(ies?) is for Customer Service Officers (e-mail/online support). You can find more information about the job at her blog: Employment Opportunity for Pinoys in Korea

Please note the date and the read the requirements carefully! If you have questions regarding the job, you can email the webmaster at the address she listed. I was told about the details of the job, including the compensation and it is better than I thought. (Online insurance not included, though)

i’m thinking of working in korea (am currently living in Toronto)

anong jobs ba ang maganda dyan? pwede na bang mag-ESL instructor ang mga pinoy dyan?

by the way, i have a BSN degree, experience in teaching ESL, and am working on obtaining a korean-language certification here from the daesagwan…

if you have a canadian passport and a degree from a canadian college/university then you can be an ESL teacher here… minsan kahit passport lang OK na :-)

ah ok…

next year pa ako magkaka-passport…

so for the meantime, kukuha na lang ako ng TESL certificate dito…

sabi nila mas maganda daw ang buhay ng nurse dito…sabi ko naman sa parents ko, parang di yata nursing ang calling ko…hahaha

hi bhing! thanks for the kind words… the korean government hasn’t fully opened its doors for filipino teachers… if i were you, i’ll prefer to work in singapore kasi mas mura pamasahe sa pinas :D

Hi Betchay, you have great posts for person like me who wished to hear their concerns to understand them better.

I’m running small cap 11 employee company in Seoul with 3 foreign programmers. Recently I tried to search Pinoy programmes to invite them as programmers instead of teachers

I can see many Indians, Pakistnis, Vietnamese & Chineses but not many Filipinos who wish to work here as programmers. The only way I can contact was through job agency in Manila. Is there any job recruiting web servicer which relays directly between employers and seekers?

Your help would be highly appreciated@@ Thanks Hyun Chang in Seoul

hello Mr. Hyun Chang..you can try to post in http://www.jobstreet.com or http://www.jobsdb.com..but i’m not sure if korean government allows direct hiring. It would be much cheaper than contacting recruitment agency here in philippines. I can assist you in posting advertisements in those sites. just send an email at bluesilverain@yahoo.com if you are interested…

Thank you moonlady

But my complaint toward Phil Gov. is almost same as your mentioning ” i’m not sure if korean government allows direct hiring”

Currently I’m working with Indians & Vientnameses, In July we will have an Uzbek. But I never get forced to contact their ambassy in Seoul before our invitation

While negotiated with programmers from those 3 countries, I never contacted their Gov. representatives in Seoul but just sign the agreement between us and get invitation visa without goverment intervention

Please kindly explain

1.Why do I need to contact POLA in Seoul first?
2.Why do I need to invite only through agencies in Phil?
3.If I meet some right candidates on the web, then I have to sign the contract with agency again for Phil Gov.?

I remember there were lots talented individuals who wishes to work abroad when I was in Manila? But I don’t know why such complicated procedures blocking our diversification plan?…. from person who needs pinoy programmers

To Hyun CHang,

I am currently working here in INcheon, Korea. I am directly hired by my company. Many filipino’s working here in korea are direct hired.Definitely, Korea government is allowing filipino’s to work here in Korea without going through agency.

To Mr. Hyun Chang,

I understand your concern. I also hope to have an easier process for koreans to hire filipino workers. But as far as I know, the policy of having agency is also to protect both parties (employee and employer). You may want to check out the Memorandum of Agreement of Philippines and South Korea in hiring employees here > http://www.poea.gov.ph/eps/eps_mou2006.pdf
With regards to your questions 1,2 and 3,…I don’t exactly know. Maybe its better if you will directly inquire to korean government.
Hope this can help you…^^

To Mr. hyun Chang,

P.S.
That MOU was expired last Oct.2008 but the new MOU bet. SK and Phil. will be released soon. I think there are no major changes from the previous one.

gud pm. just browsed through your website while searching for tours in korea and i find your site very informative. i very much want to visit korea but they don’t have consular office here in davao city. so i was wondering if i can apply for a tourist visa in manila and have them send my passport back to me thru mail. 7 days waiting period would be too long and too expensive for me to stay in manila… or could i have somebody claim my passport for me?…thanks in advance
