It wasn’t long ago when I bought my second digital camera. It took me several weeks searching and reading the internet for information on which camera to buy considering my needs and my budget. It’s really not easy to buy an “important” item if you’re not a millionaire!
Anyway, I chose my Canon Powershot for a number of reasons. First, I wanted something that is a “hybrid” – point and shoot with full manual controls. I wanted to learn photography someday and I thought that getting that camera would be best for me. The 8MP resolution and 6x zoom is great too. Plus the one I have is powered by two AA batteries and that’s very convenient. Most of all, I like the video capability of this camera, which is better than my sister’s Sony digital camera.
It’s truly not easy to buy a gadget. I loved my 4MP ultra-compact that I used for more than three years. It wasn’t easy finding something to replace it. Someday though, I’d like to get my hands on a DSLR camera.
If you’re having a hard time finding that perfect digital camera, try this Digital Cameras Buying Guide. I just remembered about the camera since it’s a Thursday, time for our weekly themed photo blog!

I am finally content with the camera on my cellphone and am actually looking to sell my former camera, haha. I have no experience with Canon, but when I did my digging, it seemed like everyone loved their cameras, so I imagine it was a smart buy.
But that means you need to share even more photos =P
I’m no expert in digital camera but Canon always end up giving me the best picture quality. You probably made the right choice.
I’m with Canon also. I like the quality.

No question about it, Canon is the best bang for your buck as far as cameras go.
However, I admit that Sony makes some good ones too.
I have a Canon EOS 50D dSLR and a Nikon Coolpix point and shoot. You can never go wrong with any of the 2 brands (either SLR or compact) as far as the optics are concerned. For snapshots, Sony is i think good. But if you want a point and shoot with full manual controls, get the Lumix Leica LX3. Its currently the best among its class.
One thing is certain though, its the user who takes the shots not the camera itself.
Interesting article but more megapixels isnt more better.
