Coconut trees in Korea

by Betchay on June 10, 2008

One may not believe it but there are coconut trees in Korea. They come complete with the coconut and in different colors too (orange, green, pink, purple). I first saw those trees in Chuncheon in Gangwon-do. I thought it was because of summer that they use them for decoration. They are not just “eyecandies” but they are used as outdoor lighting. Clever? Tacky? Cute? I snapped two while we were on the road.

It looks as out of place as an American does among Koreans, haha. Very strange, but I like it!

Yeah they are pretty cool to look at. I have also seen them in Mexico and here in the U.S. but they are usually just for decoration. I still think they are cool! :P
