A highly respected Filipina singer is coming to Seoul and I’m sure you wouldn’t want to miss her! Thanks to Cathy for the heads-up. Lea Salonga will perform in a concert simply titled “Lea Salonga First Musical Concert in Seoul” on June 16th, Monday at 8 PM. Tickets range from 30,000 won to 180,000 won. I seriously want to attend the concert but I read that children below 7 will not be allowed inside. So I hope my husband would come home earlier that day. Last Tuesday night, I was supposed to go with Jasmin and other friends to watch KBS Open Concert but they wouldn’t allow kids younger than 8 inside the studio.
Lea Salonga is from my hometown Angeles City. She gained international fame through the musical play “Miss Saigon”. She also won a Laurence Olivier and a Tony award for her role. She’d been in Les Miserables twice, first as Eponine and later as Fantine. She is the first Asian to perform at the Oscar Awards.

i want to watch the concert with my husband too, but it’s a work day…..T:T…..too bad, i wish it was on a weekend.

I was fortunate to see Lea Salonga perform as Kim in the Manila run of Miss Saigon (I had to sell 20 tickets so that I could get a ticket for free
). But I like her most in Mulan.

nice! watched her in Ms. Saigon in Manila. i was glad to catch her in iloilo last January (2008). because of that, my husband won’t allow me to watch her again here
