I’ve always asked my husband this question. I thought that every Korean home I’ve been to uses bright flourescent lamps. One of the bulbs in our bathroom is busted and I thought of substituting one of the bulbs in the bedroom and replace it with soft lights. My husband said it might upset the elders when they visit. They’re not used to soft lighting.
I think that a softer light is more relaxing in the bedroom than bright flourescent light. I also want to have one of those fine art lamps if we have a bigger house. They would fit better at my in-law’s house. Since we have a smallish apartment and white wallpaper all around, george kovacs lighting would actually look better here. Our lighting fixtures are too generic they’re so boring. I could say that that’s the case with most homes here that I’ve been too.

I think it is a matter of saving energy and money and increasing the time before you change.
I am a fan of soft lighting myself, and I would think elders would like it more!
