Marzipan babies

by Betchay on October 21, 2005

I received a forwarded e-mail containing images of cute “marzipan” babies. They look so fascinatingly real…

Definition of Marzipan

almond paste: a sweet paste made of ground almonds and sugar, often with egg whites or yolks, used as a layer in cakes or molded into ornamental shapes

UPDATE: As one of our readers had written… these are not marzipan babies but miniature clay sculptures… good thing!

The “marzipan babies are an urban legend :

The dolls are made of polymer clay by artist Camille Allen:

I was going to say… they seem too lifelike to be made of marzipan.
